  • Chamber Membership Terms

    The Chamber is a Tennessee nonprofit corporation, qualified under Section 501(c)(6) of the Internal Revenue Code.  Member rights include, but are not limited to, the opportunity to vote on Chamber matters and to hold elected or appointed office. Privileges are defined as those tangible and intangible benefits, products and services offered with membership in the association.

    Only Chamber Members in good standing may be part of any Chamber Committee, the Chamber Executive Committee or the Chamber Board of Directors.  Good standing refers to a member who is current with all Chamber membership dues/fees and has a positive standing with the Chamber.


    Active membership in the Chamber shall be open to any person, association, partnership, corporation, Limited Liability Company or other entity having an interest in the mission and purposes of the Chamber.  A prospective new member shall comply with those requirements for admission to membership, including the payment of dues, which is established by the Chamber’s Board of Directors.

    Membership Dues Structure

    Membership dues structure is based on employee count except in cases of Financial Institutions, Utilities, Hospitals and Colleges, and not for profit organizations.

    Prospective members are required to pay Chamber membership dues in full at the time of application before membership is activated.    New members pay a one-time processing fee of $25.

    One owner of two or more different businesses:  Each business will be treated as a separate entity and, therefore, require a separate membership for each business.

    Chamber membership dues may be deductible for Federal income tax purposes as an ordinary and necessary business expense (not as a charitable contribution).  However, members should consult their own tax advisors for specific tax information and advice.

    Notice of Payment

    Membership dues cover a membership year beginning at the time the member joins and ending after twelve months.  Membership dues, which are subject to change in price and formula, automatically renew on the first day of the member’s anniversary month each year and are continuous until cancelled in writing in advance of the due date. 

    A charge of $30.00 will be applied to all NSF checks and credit/debit cards processed by the Chamber.

    Memberships are NON-TRANSFERABLE and NON-REFUNDABLE.  Company ownership change requires a new membership. 

    Cancel, Revoke or Resign Membership

    Members may be dropped from membership in the Chamber if delinquent in their dues for a period of ninety (90) days, unless otherwise extended for a good cause, but only after written notice has been mailed to the member advising them of their delinquency. 

    Any member may be expelled for cause by resolution passed by two-thirds of the entire Board at a regular meeting for conduct unbecoming a member, or prejudicial to the aims and/or reputation of the Chamber.  Such members shall be notified in writing of the intention before doing so and given an opportunity for a hearing.  Passage of such resolution automatically annuls such membership.

    Any member of the Chamber who intends to resign membership may do so at any time upon giving the Chamber staff ten days’ notice in writing of such intention, and upon discharging any liability which is standing upon the books of the Chamber against them at the time of such notice.

    Event Refund Policy

    The Chamber requires payment in advance for admission to all Chamber events, due to commitments to our vendors.  Chamber event fees (regardless of attendance) are refundable only if a cancellation notice is received at least one week prior to the event.

    Privacy Statement

    The Chamber is committed to protecting the privacy of members’ personal information.  This commitment applies with respect to information that we collect, from visitors to the Chamber’s website located at to information we collect in order to process commercial transactions initiated by customers on our website (including the purchase or renewal of memberships online).  The Chamber owns and has sole authority concerning the use of all member data it collects.

    LOGO Use

    The Chamber licenses its membership logo for display only by Chamber members in good standing.  Images may not be modified in any way.  If the logo is used on a member’s website, it must be linked to the Chamber’s website at  Any other use of the image required prior written permission by the Chamber.  Downloading and displaying a Chamber membership logo constitutes acceptance of these terms.

    Membership Meetings

    Annual Membership Meeting

    The Chamber shall convene an Annual Membership Meeting each year.  The date, time and location of the Annual Membership Meeting shall be fixed by the Board.

    Notice of the date of the Annual Membership Meeting shall be given to the membership by publication by the Chamber and/or electronically, at least thirty (30) days prior to the date of the meeting.

    Special General Meetings

    Special General Meetings may be called at the discretion of the Board of Directors of the Chamber.  Notice of date and location for such meetings shall be by publication by the Chamber and/or electronically at least ten (10) days prior to the date of such meeting.


    10% of the members in good standing of the Chamber shall constitute a quorum at all meetings of the membership.

    Voting Privileges

    In any proceeding in which voting by members is called for, each Active Member, in good standing, shall be entitled to cast one (1) vote.
